Principal’s Welcome.

Dr. Áine Moran
Welcome to our Website

I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been given the opportunity to lead this wonderful new school in Tyrrelstown. I thank each of our parents for entrusting your child to us for the next five or six years of their education. Together we will build a school of excellence and care which will serve the needs of this community.

Fostering self-esteem and promoting mutual respect are central to our philosophy of education and we will take pride in creating an atmosphere that is both nurturing and stimulating. Within the school, I hope we can create a great sense of community and common purpose and work extremely closely with our parents/guardians to promote and sustain an environment which encourages and stimulates learning. This will enable us to provide a learning experience which is enjoyable yet disciplined.

At Le Cheile Secondary School, we will strive to educate the whole person: spiritually, emotionally, physically and intellectually. To this end I would encourage all students to get involved in extra curricular activities, whether it be sport, music, green schools, chess, debating etc. As a new school we will strive to build connections with local community groups, other educational establishments – from preschool to third level and with local businesses. It is my view that we can create much more working in collaboration than working alone.

As a school of the Le Cheile Trust, we belong to a rich network of schools extending across Ireland. The tradition and ethos which we share with this network serve only to enrich the experience we offer as we seek to develop young people who are willing and able to make a valuable contribution to a rapidly changing world.

Mission Statement

Le Cheile Secondary School is a Catholic school committed to promoting Christian values and affirming the personal worth and dignity of each student. The school is inclusive of students from all cultures and backgrounds and celebrates diversity. We aim to ensure that Le Cheile Secondary School is a place where students feel at ease and cared for enabling them to relate to one another and to staff in an open, respectful and trusting manner. The school values the role of parents in the education of their children and seeks to work in partnership with them.

“The characteristic spirit of our school is based on the vision and values of the Le Cheile Charter. It is underpinned by a philosophy of education that has at its centre the unique dignity of the human person as a child of God.”

Our School Motto is  welcome wisdom witness
This motto is inspired by the heritage and gift of all the other Le Cheile Schools. We hope to take the very best from our heritage and build a great school for the future.

Board of Management
